The International Reading Association (IRA) lists professional development as one of its five Standards for Reading Professionals. They state that reading professionals should have a commitment to lifelong career learning (IRA, 2003). 
 

The Resources in Reading team is prepared to help schools and school systems meet this standard with their teachers. Our team members are trained to help you assess your literacy needs. Our goal is to deliver professional development in a manner that best suits your particular teacher/student population. As such, we offer workshops, planning assistance, literacy coaching / demonstration lessons, as  well as assessment support.
